The Agenzia N.1 di Pavia Per Ayamé (APPA) is committed to international cooperation in favor of the Ayamé community in Ivory Coast. Thanks to the contribution of volunteers and supporters, APPA promotes social, health, and environmental development projects. The Agency collaborates with academic and healthcare institutions, facilitating training missions and cultural exchanges between Pavia and Ayamé.

L’Agenzia collabora con istituzioni accademiche e sanitarie, favorendo missioni di formazione e scambi culturali tra Pavia e Ayamé.

Who we are

When was APPA founded?

The Agenzia N.1 di Pavia per Ayamé, acronym APPA, was established on November 29, 1991, at the Ghislieri College, through the initiative of 50 citizens of Pavia who decided to adopt a "disadvantaged situation in the world" indefinitely and contribute financially and operationally each year to its development.

Values and Intentions

The Statement of Intent specifies that joining the Agency "in no way implies uniformity of religious or political values..., but only the recognition of the value of humanity and the habit of cultivating the vice of hope."

Official Recognitions

In 2002, the Agency received recognition as an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is currently listed in theAICS register (Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development) register of Civil Society Organizations pursuant to Law No. 125 of August 11, 2014, and subsequent amendments (Decree No. 2016/337/000130/1 of 07/04/2016).
It is also registered in the provincial section of Pavia of the Register of Volunteer Organizations of Lombardy ,

pursuant to Regional Law No. 1/2008 of Lombardy.

Since November 16, 2022, the Agency has been recognized as an ETS (Third Sector Organization) registered in the National Single Register of the Third Sector (R.U.N.T.S. rep. 801080).

Projects

Since its establishment, APPA has always and only operated in the Ayamé area in Ivory Coast. In the last 10 years, cooperation has focused on 4 main projects:

Support for the local public hospital HGA (Hôpital Général d'Ayamé)

Support for the orphanage called POUPONNIÈRE

Urban Hygiene and Ecology, water cycle and waste management

Support for the local rural communities scattered in the surrounding "brousse"
